The story of Veritas began in 1892, when Jean-Baptiste Leestmans bought an old haberdashery shop in the centre of Antwerp. Over many years, Veritas developed into a chain with 120 shops in Benelux, as a leader in the hosiery and haberdashery market. Today, Veritas has reached the respectable age of 131, and its hosiery and haberdashery are still its core business. In addition, Veritas aims to provide its customers with handy take-home products and ready-to-wear items, so that they can complete their fashion looks according to the trends of the moment. Veritas stocks a great range of its own brands, including Insua, as well as other brands such as Chantelle and Tommy Hilfiger. A range of new shops and flagship stores have been opened in Antwerp, Westland and Knokke, among other locations. Customer focus takes centre stage at Veritas. Its continuous aim is therefore to offer products of increasingly fine quality and to respond to the demands of customers of all ages – from creative DIY fans to fashionistas. The range continues to surprise with its original and smart DIY items, ready-to-wear styles and great buys. Above that, the retailer recently launched its own activewear line, featuring ambassadors and Olympic athletes Nina Derwael and Alexander Hendrickx. Veritas also pays a lot of attention to connecting with its target audience via its social media channels and newsletters, but also by listening to customers in the shop and making the right recommendations. It continues to inspire customers with necessary passion and dedication and allows them to shop to their heart’s content: do it with passion, or not at all!
